Reading the Rocks
Rocks communicate their long and complex history through their structure, composition, and the landscapes they shape. When we observe rocks closely, they reveal stories of the Earth's past, from the intense pressures and heat that form metamorphic rocks to the violent volcanic activities that create igneous rocks. Each layer, color, and texture in a rock can tell us about ancient environments, climatic changes, and geological events. By studying rocks, we listen to a silent dialogue about the Earth's formation, the movements of tectonic plates, and the evolution of our planet over billions of years. Rocks, in their silent but eloquent language, remind us of the dynamic and ever-changing nature of the world beneath our feet.
